I am a plant and soil science student at MTSU. I have been given a project to select trees to reclaim a borrow pit. There is pavement on two sides of a 500’ X 135’ squash shaped property. The project coordinator suggests dogwood and redbud. There is power-line obstruction near the perimeter and slope is at most 20%. There is a pit in the center where wet conditions could occur. Additional concerns would be drought, poor soil quality (i.e. rocky, no topsoil), and low maintenance varieties, not to mention expense as it is a city funded project.
I have researched the UT Extension website and compiled a list of desirable specimens. I am writing here in hopes of hearing suggestions from experts in the field.

Thanks, Wanda

I am not much into reading, but somehow I got to read nice information on your site. Simple to understand and helpful. We will look forward for your future updates.

Thanks
